Lotus Emeya Sets Record: 10% to 80% Charge in 14 Minutes

Lotus’ Emeya hyper-GT has set a new benchmark in electric vehicle charging speed, charging from 10% to 80% in just 14 minutes, outperforming major EVs.

The Lotus Emeya can reach a peak charging power of 402kW, with an average charging power of 331kW between 10% and 80% battery charge. With a WLTC energy consumption of 18.7kWh/100km, Emeya can gain up to 310km (193 miles) range in 10 minutes.

The leading global consulting firm P3 validated this remarkable milestone by recently publishing its independent 2023 P3 Charging Index for Asia.

Lotus attributes these fast-charging capabilities to its cell-to-back battery structure, which packs 20% more cells in the same space compared to standard module architecture. In addition, the Emeya features a new cooling system architecture designed to enhance thermal performance and battery efficiency.

Extensive Charging Network and Solutions

Partnering with Bosch, Lotus provides access to over 700,000 public chargers across 30 European countries. Lotus plans to expand its network over time by adding more operators. Lotus has teamed up with Mobilize Power Solutions to offer an all-inclusive home charging package, which includes supplying and installing a charging point with personalised support.

Seamless Charging Experience

With the Lotus Charging Card, drivers can access the charging network with a single tap and find all necessary information via the Lotus Cars app. The app allows users to track their charging history, manage costs, and monitor vehicle battery status remotely.

The award-winning Lotus HyperOS in-car infotainment system in the Eletre and Emeya uses intelligent EV routing to locate nearby public chargers, reducing range anxiety and optimising travel routes.
